What's happening at BYG.

In August 2008 for the second year we ran holiday club activities at Harpur Hull Methodist, Buxton Methodist, Earl Sterndale Methodist, Monyash Methodist and Peak Dale Methodist and at Monyash and Peak Dale we finished each event off with a Barbeque.

In October we chose not to run holiday clubs across the villages but concentrate our energies on an alternative Halloween event to which some schools in the villages and in Buxton were invited. Yes on Friday 31st at Buxton Methodist our event was called a 'Superheroes Party' where children could if they wanted dress up as a superhero. We finished by looking at a superhero that had real superhuman powers and who did superhuman feats - Jesus. The whole evening was great and the children had mega fun.

In December, we plan two big events to help parents with their Christmas shopping. At Buxton Methodist on the 6th and at Fairfield on the 20th December we are offering games, activities and loads of fun for children between the ages of 5 and 11 for 6 hours while parents do their Christmas shopping. We ran this event last year which was hugely successful and received really good feedback. There is no charge for the day although children need to bring a packed lunch. We provide drinks, refreshments and all materials free of charge although donations are most welcome. We don't charge because we do not want money to be a barrier to what we offer - the Church must be accessible to all. Each event will have a Christian theme - you've guessed it - Christmas.
